When you’re the DIY kind of bride and you have 650 days to plan your dream wedding–you bring forth every ounce of talent you can muster—combine that with the help and talents of your people to create something truly beautiful.

As a couple we’ve spent every anniversary exploring Big Sur’s unparalleled beauty and rugged wilderness–it’s our ‘happy place’ and we knew the first time we camped under the majestic redwoods that there was no other place in the world we would want to get married.

Our wedding day was a labor of love—I was the visionary for the design, lighting and decor–creating our logos, hand illustrating our wedding invitations, and designing the paper goods (menus/programs/info cards). I searched high and low for all of the wedding decor and special touches! Together Anthony and I created s’more sticks out of Big Sur’s driftwood, branded and painted our ‘welcome boxes,’ created 100 wooden directional signs, oxidized and fire burned the copper signage (which now hang in our home). We saved every penny for this wedding, we lived in an apartment lined with wedding boxes for over a year, and we even packed up our entire living room and loaded it into a u-haul headed to Big Sur so that we could have a ‘lounge section’ at our wedding.

We couldn’t have pulled off our dream wedding day without the help of our family and friends who spent long weekends working on endless DIY projects, talked with us on the phone for hours and hours going over every last detail, donated cases of wine + beer to our wedding (Thank you all of Anthony’s friends!), and gave up their vacation days to make our wedding happen!!!! Our family and friends hammered, assembled, unloaded, moved, set up, rearranged, strung lights, created flower bouquets, and cleaned!

We have the most AMAZING friends and family ever. THANK YOU, TRULY, THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts we couldn’t have pulled off our day without the generous contribution of your time/talents!!!

Our wedding was the most amazing day of our lives–it was pure magic, I have never been happier, felt more loved or more beautiful! I truly am the luckiest girl in the world, Thank you Anthony DeLaura for loving me in ALL of the ways that you do!!

CHECK OUT OUR WEDDING from the eye of our amazing Photographer Josh Elliott He captured our day in such a beautiful way and he didn’t miss a single detail!!!
